Congrats! You've made it to Part 4 of the Au Naturale Nutrition weight-loss series! 

If you missed Weight-loss MYTH #1, MYTH #2, or MYTH #3 (and they are biggies!), please go back and read my posts.

Okay...  Let's talk specifics!  Let's get down to the nitty-gritty! 
Or, as I like to say, "Bottom line it!"


​​Why do you want to lose weight?  
​What's your end goal?  

​(I'm not talking #'s here.)  
What I mean is: How do you want your life be different?  


For example: Do you want more energy to play with your kids?  Do you want improved digestion?  Do you want to get in shape and have muscle tone?  Want to improve your health markers or lab test results?  There's no wrong answer.

NOTE: Sometimes you need to ask "WHY?" several times to get down to the root motivation.  You may need to ask "why?" up to seven times to find the real answer.

Once you know why you want to lose weight, then DON'T wait until you've reached your "ideal" weight to start living your goal.  If you want to play with your kids or grandkids, do it now.  Enjoy every step along the way of improving your health.  Focus on the present moment and the journey (not just the final destination).  Don't wait to truly live until the future arrives.


​​Speaking of goals...  
Should you have a set time-frame?  

​Maybe for the amount of time it takes you to change your dietary habits. But for weight-loss, no.  Why?  This change you're making is not a temporary situation.  Eating a whole foods diet and the pursuit of health is an endeavor for a lifetime.  (Before modern technology, everyone ate whole foods.)   Going back to old habits will mean going back to your old weight and health problems.  Eating Au Naturale Nutrition-style is a permanent way of life. And trust me, once you get the hang of eating a nutrient rich diet, and how wonderful it feels to eliminate refined foods, you won't want to revert back to old habits.

​"WHAT EXACTLY SHOULD I EAT TO LOSE WEIGHT?" 

Remember from my post MYTH #1... focus on your health first!  Do this by eating a nutrient rich, whole foods diet. Nourishing yourself in holistic way (body, mind, and spirit) will help to reverse the metabolic damage that caused you to gain weight.

Weight gain can be caused by many things:
▪ Fatty Acid Deficiency
▪ Stress & Adrenal Fatigue
▪ Hormonal Imbalances
▪ Toxin Overload
▪ Brain Chemistry Deficiency (may cause stress eating)
▪ Digestive Problems
▪ Food Sensitivities
▪ Yeast Overgrowth
▪ Unstable Blood Sugar
▪ Dehydration & Mineral Imbalances

Pretty much all of these can naturally improve when you adopt a nutrient rich, whole, natural food diet.

When people switch from a Standard American Diet (SAD) to a whole-food, Au Naturale Nutrition way of eating, it's quite common to see your body change into the size and shape nature always intended.  
 

(Don't forget: Stress will keep you from losing weight and achieving health!  You may need to focus on changing your stressful environment, behaviors, and mindset before you tackle a change in diet.  Shedding stress can help shed pounds!)

Go into this lifestyle change with a mindset of food ABUNDANCE, not of deprivation.  Real food choices from the earth are plentiful and help your appetite be self-regulating.  What you're not going to eat is the non-foods like Doritos, Hostess cupcakes, and margarine.  Yes, those things are edible chemical concoctions, but they are NOT food.
