Guac-ziki Sauce & Grass-fed Lamb Burgers

Guac-ziki sauce: A combination of guacamole and tzatziki sauce for a new, awesome taste! You'll say Ole! & Opa!  A very versatile sauce for use with both Mexican and Mediterranean dishes.  (Paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free)  By Jenny at www.AuNaturaleNutrition.com

​A mixture of guacamole & tzatziki sauce!

Guacamole is about a popular as ketchup nowadays.  It's a delicious way to eat avocados and to get in a nice helping of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats. You may be less familiar with tzatziki sauce.  Tzatziki sauce is typically paired with Greek or Mediterranean dishes and traditionally made with either yogurt or sour cream. I've combined the best of both here for a new, versatile taste.  The Guac-ziki sauce has a perfect flavor for both Mexican and Greek dishes.  Use it anywhere you'd use guacamole or tzatziki - like on eggs, tacos, salads, burgers, meatloaf, etc. The ideas are endless.  This version is dairy-free, too!

Guac-ziki Sauce Recipe - Au Naturale!

Just 3 ingredients:
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • Guacamole
  • Finely chopped organic cucumber, with skin
Use equal parts of the guacamole and cucumber.  Mix & enjoy!

​Store any unused guac-ziki covered in the fridge.
If you use store-bought guacamole, like I often do, be sure to find a brand that is as natural as possible.  Guac that doesn't turn brown (after opened) is loaded with preservatives, and you can usually taste them.  That's why I added the lemon juice to the recipe.  Not only is it delicious, it's also got vitamin C, which is a natural antioxidant.  It helps prevent the browning/oxidation process.  Oxidation is also what happens to the cells in your body when you eat junk food, unhealthy oils, or too much sugar.  (Read more in my post about antioxidants.)

​Lamb Burgers - Au Naturale!

This is also an easy 3 ingredient recipe:
  • 1 lb ground, grass-fed lamb (I get mine shipped to me from Grassfed Traditions farm in Wisconsin.)
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped finely
  • 1 Tbsp Greek seasoning (see my recipe mix HERE)

Mix 'em all together, make into patties, & grill.  
Top with Guac-ziki sauce.  Opa!

Need a Chopper? 

​I have owned my Pampered Chef Food Chopper since 2001 and it's still as sharp as ever and like new.  I use it almost daily and love it! It was worth every penny and is one of my most favorite kitchen tools.  The zig-zag blades rotate as you press down on the chopper.  It cleans-up in the dishwasher and makes kitchen work much, much easier, and I like that.  ;-)

I used my chopper for both the cucumber in the guac-ziki sauce, and for the onion in the lamb burgers.  YUM!
