​About Jenny

​Hello! I'm Jenny & I am a Holistic Wellness Educator. I am lucky to live out my passion and bring you valuable information about holistic health and wellness and the mind-body-spirit connection. I am a graduate of Hawthorn University, where I earned my Master of Science degree in Health and Nutrition Education (Summa Cum Laude). I also have a BS in Modern Languages from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and completed post-graduate work in Accounting and Business. 

My husband and I live in the Nashville, TN, area. Together we have raised two awesome children. I love cooking, yoga, church and community volunteer work, and am an avid tennis player. I sometimes describe my diet as Mediterranean-Paleo, which honors my Greek heritage and is how I feel the happiest and healthiest (and science proves it!)  (Read more about: My Journey to Whole-Food Nutrition)

​I’m an “Au Naturale” girl in a modern world.
(Not so "cavegirl" & not so "crunchy" !)


The only thing I like un-refined is my food. I certainly am a girl who loves modern comforts and technology. I love the outdoors and sports, too, but you won’t find me at a campground sleeping in a tent. If I was living as a cavegirl in the paleolithic era, I’d be the one wearing a full-length sabertooth tiger coat, decorating my cave with snake skins, grilling wooly mammoth burgers, weaving my own tennis racquet, and coaching my kid’s spear throwing team.
​I am happy, smart, spunky, strong, and pretty dang tough - with lip gloss.  :-)

My Mission:

I like to bring some glamour to the realm of holistic health & nutrition. I also believe in taking a whole-food approach to beauty. In fact, my master's thesis was about the connection between nutrition and healthy aging of the skin. My wish is that everyone can feel beautiful, look beautiful, and live a beautiful, vibrant life. This website is designed to help you to feel abundantly healthy, burst with energy, feel grounded in yourself, and radiate a positive attitude; all by using the power of nutrient-rich whole foods and living a holistic lifestyle. ​Radiating beautiful health!!

What is "Au Naturale" Nutrition?

​“Au Naturale” foods provide beautiful health, nutrient density, and deep nourishment:

It's vital for optimum health to choose high-quality, natural, whole foods. "Au Naturale" foods include a bountiful supply of fiber-rich vegetables and fruits (preferably local and organic), fresh spices and herbs, raw/sprouted nuts and seeds, starchy tubers, healthy fats, pastured eggs, grass-fed meats, raw dairy, wild-caught fish, free-range pork and poultry, fermented foods, and organ meats. These whole foods contain vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and enzymes that are necessary for optimum nutrition.

Packaged, processed, and refined foods are avoided because they deplete nutrition. Toxins are avoided, such as chemical additives, preservatives, pesticides, artificial sweeteners, flavorings and colorings, irradiated foods, and GMO’s. Refined sugars, glutinous grains, most dairy, most legumes, and industrial vegetable oils are eliminated because they are inflammatory.

An “Au Naturale” lifestyle is holistic because it means simply and deeply connecting to our loved ones, God, and nature. 

We live in a toxic world. There have been 80,000 new chemicals introduced since the turn of the twentieth century, most of which have not been tested for safety. This can easily lead to acute and chronic illnesses, hormone imbalances, and weight issues. An "Au Naturale" lifestyle means avoiding the worst external toxic offenders and also working so support our body's natural detox pathways (learn more.)

Natural beauty is also a holistic concept that encompasses the aspects of mind, body, spirit, and emotions. It all supports your physical, mental, and spiritual health that shores up your inner beauty - and it unmistakably shows on the outside, too. It's not about anti-aging either; it's about aging gracefully.

My nutritional approach to beauty is a simple concept: what nourishes your body to help it be healthy on the inside will also be evident on the outside. It will be evident in your skin, hair, nails, teeth, and eyes if your body is detoxifying properly, if your body is utilizing ample nutrients, and if your digestion is good (read more).

What you put on your skin matters, too. Because your skin absorbs just about everything you apply on it, in an ideal world, everything you apply would be edible and non-toxic.
